Aj Fata grew up in South Auckland, Manurewa, her waters flow from the Waikato river towards Ngāti Makirangi as well as the Moana that embraces Samoa. She is a mixed media artist, expressing offerings of herself through poetry, digital art, print-making and music. Her works speak to the story of being in a working relationship with all things. Leaning into the strength of her ancestry, she loves all things coconut cream and talo leaves. She is a collector of kupu and a cultivator of kai and most days will be drinking lemon ginger tea.
