Cassie was born in Tāmaki Makaurau and raised in the Te Moana a Toi settlement of Kawerau. She is of tagata Sāmoa (Fasito'otai, Toamua), Māori Kūki 'Āirani (Tongareva, Manihiki, Rakahanga), Kanaka Maoli (Hawaiʻi Nui, Maui, O'ahu), iTaukei (Tavua) and Pākehā (Scotland) decent. Cassie holds a Bachelor of Communication - Media from Te Whare Wānanga o Wairaka Unitec Institute of Technology and has built a 20 year career producing, managing and marketing venues and events in the hospitality, technology and creative industries. Cassie uses social media to connect to and build community, plan and deliver communications including still and moving imagery, copy and web content, while mitigating risk to improve outcomes for Māori and Pasifika businesses.
My favourite mea ʻai is palusami...and kokoda...and creamed pāua...and Mum's sapasui.
